Christoph Landis has been appointed as division CEO of SIX Swiss Exchange, and will take up a position on the SIX Group executive board, with immediate effect.

Since joining the Swiss Exchange in 1992, Landis has held several technology-related roles, and has been credited with contributing significantly to the development of the electronic stock exchange.

He was appointed to the management committee of the SIX Swiss Exchange in 2003, and has been responsible for operations since 2010, becoming deputy CEO of the division in 2012. He has been charged with leading the exchange, on an interim bases, since May this year.

Urs Rüegsegger, group CEO of SIX, said: "With Landis we have a division CEO who is experienced and has strong leadership qualities, who is highly familiar with the stock-exchange business, and who has made a crucial contribution to the successful positioning and development of SIX Swiss Exchange.”

“In addition, he has already demonstrated on many occasions that he fits into the Group Executive Board extremely well. I very much look forward to a successful working relationship."
